Meaningful & Intimate Backyard Wedding
Up on the blog today is this intimate backyard wedding from our beautiful Alberta fall! Normally, when it comes to weddings and events this year it’s always the talk about how COVID caused so many “pivot” moments in the wedding scene this year. However for our couple K&C, it actually turned out to be just what they needed to get the ball rolling for their own wedding.
We are Calgary event planners, contact us here and truly enjoyed being part of this wedding. With only 35 guests and their two cute pups Joey & Nali (see pics below), following the restrictions set out for events at the time, it truly was the most meaningful and intimate wedding they could have asked for [their words, not ours 😉 ]. K&C noted that downsizing their wedding allowed them to avoid the frenzy and business that tends to come to large scale weddings! The COVID restrictions put into place truly allowed them to celebrate with their closest friends & family on their actual wedding day.
From the Couple
“Downsizing our guest list was probably the best thing that Covid imposed on us. It made us be a bit more particular with who we invited, so we only had our nearest and dearest with us on our day!”

THE DETAILS
From the Photographer
“For my husband and I, we got married during the 2013 flood, so our ceremony AND reception venues were completely flooded out and cancelled on us a month prior. **cue the massive amounts of stress**. But the best part about that unexpected situation, we prioritized. We realized that the main things for us was to get married, be around people we love (whether it was handful or a bundle), and have it documented. Even if it meant we said “I Do” in my parent’s backyard, it would still check off the main things we wanted from the day. Fortunately we were able to lock in two new venues last minute and they turned out to be even better than the original plan, but it was the thought process of knowing that things change during the planning and that is okay.
At the end of the day, you will get married to your other half and you will have a support system rooting for you <3″
THE COUPLE
From us
“There are always special & unique moments that come from having to pivot your wedding plans that you may not have expected with veering from the traditional wedding plans. Your day will be so special and forever remembered for so many reasons regardless if it is your original or a new plan”
